Ending balance vs current balance in investment accounts

I have a vanguard cash plus account set up along with other vanguard accounts. In the account bar on the left in Quicken I have those accounts set up to show the ending balance so any future transactions will affect that balance. Within the individual investment registers it defaults to the current balance and the only way to see what the ending balance would be is to click on the holdings and check the date to a later date. Is there a way to automatically show the ending balance in the register like I have done in the accounts bar?

Are you showing Cash in this account? Or, is the cash held as a Security? OR, is it in a "Linked Cash Account"?

Are there any Future dated transactions in the account?

The cash balance in the account is at zero as it sweeps to a vanguard cash plus fund. I did enter a future data transaction for a tax payment to the IRS. That is in September. The balance in the register does not reflect that upcoming payment but in the accounts bar on the left it shows the balance after that transaction. If I look at the account balance on the left (which is set to ending balance), I know what the balance will be after any upcoming payments but I don't know that balance when I'm looking in the register, without going through3-4 mouse clicks and screens in the Holdings area. I would like them to both be the same but maybe that is not a possibility.
