Unable to add new AAA online credit card account in Quicken

During the Quicken add credit card account process an error occurs that indicates my username and/or password is incorrect. I can login with my credentials thru the web just fine. The message shows the Comenity Bank in the error dialog box.

AAA isn't a bank, and thus can't actually issue cards. They're "co-branded" on a card issued by a bank. Did Comenity actually issue your card?

Also, are there any special characters (which?) in your ID or password with the issuing bank? Depending upon your connection method, some of them can mess up the connection, but still work when you go to the website.

AAA Visa Card was set up per their instructions with Acgcardservices. Also per their instructions, I set up an account with acgcardservices. When I log in to acgcardservices, I can view all activity on card to date. When I attempt to set up this new credit card account in Quicken using the "AAA Advantage Visa Card" option an error dialog box appears telling me that login credentials are incorrect. Dialog box also shows "comenity.net" in small letters in top left corner. There is no option in Quicken to use acgcardservices in the add new account set up process. I also attempted to set up this new account using the Comenity Bank option but it also failed in a similar manner. At nowhere in their literature does AAA mention Comenity Bank. Thanks for your assistance.

What BANK NAME is on the back of the card? And acgcardservices isn't shown in FIDIR.TXT (which reflects all of the Q "Participating Financial Institutions"), so that won't work.

It's also possible, Comenity is known to do this, that they haven't enabled that particular card for download into Q. ENTIRELY Comenity's decision, if this is the case.

And, you never answered the question about special characters.

One special character (#) in password.

    On back of card top: acgcardservices.com | US 800-328-4850 | Int'l 701-461-0930

On back of card bottom: "The creditor and issuer of this card is U.S. Bank National Association."

(#) doesn't appear to be a prohibited password (one that the HTML interface interprets as "code").

Have you tried using US Bank as the Financial Institution for this card?

I tried U.S. Bank but it failed in same manner. In my attempt to track this issue down, I came across some discussions on this forum back in Oct. 2022 concerning the identical problem with Comenity Bank. The discussion abruptly ended with no apparent resolution. I can only presume it resolved itself over time. My thinking at this time is that it takes time to be accepted as an online/Quicken client. Thanks for you help.

Update. …..After several attempts all morning I was able to set up account in Quicken and download transactions. I have no idea what changed. Thanks again for your help.
