Problems with transactions being removed after reconciliations complete?
I have been a long term quicken user and I have always reconciled various accounts monthly and now on a semi regular basis my beginning balance changes and I realize that comes from removing reconciled items or unchecking reconciled items. But I am finding items completely missing which were in there previously. I am wondering if Quicken is causing this somehow and am about ready to dump quicken and start over. What do you recommend? In the past, quicken support has had me adjust the balance or start a new file for this account from say 1/1/2024? I am tired of having these issues because I am confident it's not from my doing. Please help.

At the top of your account registers, above the column header line, is a line where you can Filter transactions. One setting there is to show ONLY un-reconciled transactions. You can click the RESET button to show all transactions in the account.
Also, there's a known bug in Q that sometimes causes the Opening Balance to be changed. For this reason, it's been recommended that you post the CORRECT Opening Balance in the Memo field of that transaction … so that if the amount of the transaction gets changed you can easily spot such and know what to change it back to.
The bug sometimes happens when you Reset the account, or if you change download methods into the account. The bug is still being worked on because a consistent cause hasn't yet been identified.
