Cash Flow Report Showing Investment Buy/Sell as Uncategorized
I'm trying to run a cash flow report and I want to include my investment accounts since I have dividend paying ETFs and stocks. When I run the report I have a large number of Uncategorized transactions in both Inflows and Outflows. When I drill down I'm seeing all the stock buy/sells from my investment accounts. Since these buy/sells do not impact cash flow why are they included in the cash flow report and how do I keep the interest and dividend income in the report?

All I can say is that as far as I know the Cash Flow report has always worked this way, even though it doesn't make any sense from a "global" perspective; you certainly can have cash in Investment Accounts and Buys and Sells do affect that cash.
You can simply Customize the report to exclude the "Uncategorized" Category.

OK, thanks for the info. Does Quicken have a method for submitting bugs and making feature requests?
On a related note, this issue is similar to how Quicken handles transfers from one IRA to another IRA in a scenario where the user switches brokerages without taking a withdrawal. Transferring the assets to a new account shows up as a contribution in the new account rather than a transfer. Are you aware of a workaround for this issue?
Thanks again!

If you're moving the entire IRA to another brokerage, I wouldn't do a transfer … I'd just disconnect the acct from the original brokerage and then connect to the new. If you'd like, you could insert a memo about the move. But this way, your history stays all in one place.
IF you hold proprietary investments in the original acct, and can't move them, I'd sell (as needed) in the account, disconnect, reconnect and then buy as appropriate.

Wow, that's a great workaround. I wish I would have thought of that prior to transferring the assets to the new brokerage.
I moved the entire IRA from eTrade/Morgan Stanley to Schwab. This would be a pain but what do you think about deleting all the transfers and following your approach? My concern is that the transactions that occurred at Schwab since the transfer would be lost if I delete the new account.
Thoughts?
Thanks again for your great advice!

In the "Move Transactions" window of an Investment Account you should be able to identify all the Schwab transactions and move them over to the old Etrade Account.

Thanks @Tom Young that makes sense.
