Schedule B-Interest and Dividends Tax Report missing taxable dividends

edited October 15 in Reports (Windows)

In Quicken Classic (Windows) I ran the Schedule B - Interest and Dividends report and the Tax Schedule report and compared them for different years.

The Schedule B - Interest and Dividends tax report is missing all of my taxable dividend distribution that I recorded properly in my Schwab Joint brokerage account (i.e. taxable)(regardless of date settings).

However, when I run the Tax Schedule report, the taxable dividend transactions are reported correctly.

Also I have validated my data file and no problems were found.

Anyone else experience this issue?

Does the Schedule B report show dividends from other accounts correctly? If so, click on the gear at the top right of the report and make sure the Schwab account is included.

Jim I found the problem. My _DivInc category was not assigned a Tax Line Item. Don't know how this happened but all is good now. Thanks.

The _DivInc category, being a required, built-in category, is normally correctly defined with a tax line item and cannot be changed or deleted.

How did you manage to fix this problem?

Hold down CTRL and SHIFT and right-click the category. You should see Edit in the resulting menu. Then you can go to the Tax Reporting tab of the resulting dialog and correct the tax line item.
