I have my Citi Costco (and a couple of other Citi credit cards) set up with Direct Connect via the Citi Cards setup link in Add Account. For the last 4 Sundays I have gotten a message that I need to reauthorize my accounts. I decline doing that because reauthorizing them means that my connection will be changed from DC to Express Web Connect+ which I do not want.

After declining the reauthorization request my Citi cards accounts were automatically deactivated. Simply clicking on the Citi Cards set up link in Add Account will try to set me up with EWC+ but the setup then fails.

What I have done is to type in "Citi Cards" in the Add Account search field and then click on Advanced Options instead of on Next. This will open a popup that looks like it will take me to the Citi website but when clicking on Continue here it will open another popup where I can then select DC. After selecting DC and clicking on Next the setup process will then correctly set up my accounts for Direct Connect, again.

It is a weird sequence because the Quicken default is to try to connect one to DC when DC is available but that is not working with Citi Cards. Instead, one must manually select DC in order to get set up with DC, again.

It is also weird because this has consistently happened only on the previous 4 Sundays. (I have not tried running OSU today, yet, so if it happens again today it will have occurred on the last 5 Sundays.)

Something (from Citi, I'm assuming) is triggering Quicken to attempt to move the Citi Cards DC setups over to EWC+. It is my understanding that this should not be happening with the Citi Cards setups and that Citi Cards should still be defaulting to DC.

Have you tried to set up your Citi Costco card with the Citi Cards DC option as I mentioned earlier in this post?
