It's time to fix the super slomo, I'm embarrassed to have put up with this for this long
Waiting 15 seconds every time you enter a transaction is not acceptable. It's been years that people have been complaining about this and all we here is that someone is "working on it". Most of us have been doing all the firewall shutoffs, checking our system capabilities, and all the other things that have been suggested, but it's clear that it just comes down to the program. It's time to hire some people who can make your program operate at a speed that doesn't make us all wonder why we are accepting this. Alternately, it's time for some people to create a new program where we can migrate our data and not hate working on our finances. The time for excuses is over, fix it, or the young programmers out there will see the opportunity and make this program obsolete. Sorry for the harshness but it's amazing how long we've all put up with this frustration.

Are you complaining about Quicken Windows or Quicken Mac? I’m not having any problems like that with Quicken Mac.

@silchad1 - I have no experience like that on my HP laptop. that is what makes it challenging for Quicken as this is a distributed model - there are 1000s of permutations of personal computers configurations using this software. If this was a 'cloud' version of the software, I suspect these issues would all disappear.
Since I am not having the issues you are experiencing (and I suspect there are millions more not experiencing the issue - otherwise these board will be overloaded with complaints), why do you believe it's not your machine?
Just curious, can you please set up a test file, download and / or enter some transactions and post what the experience is?
it is NOT clear it comes down to the program - otherwise ALL of us would be experiencing the same thing and that is not the case.

@Silchad1 you are making assumptions that just aren't true.
- That everyone has the same problem you have.
- That it is simple for some "young programmers" to come along and do what Quicken does.
Neither of these are true.
To add to what @Mark1104 said, not only could the problem be something on your machine it could be your data file. And even when considering the data file it could be something like corruption in it, or even the fact that Quicken does have performance problems in the investment registers that will only come up in the cases of having say lots of transactions/securities/security lots in a given account.
An "out of the blue" statement that it is taking 15 seconds to enter a transaction without any other details doesn't really give anyone much of a starting point to even suggest what might be wrong in your case.

I run Quicken Classic Windows with the latest version. I have a 153MB file, with 23 years of data, that loads in less than 5 seconds. Transaction entry is immediate with no hesitations. My laptop is a 12th Intel I7 processor with 16gb of RAM and 512GB SSD. I have no performance issues with Quicken. In the old days I had a laptop with a hard drive which caused quite a bit of slowness but changing to an SSD vastly improved performance.
As others have said there are 1000s of computer configurations any of which could cause performance issues. Any app can be slow on a computer which does not have the proper configuration to support the app and its data.
Finally, as others have said you haven't provided enough information for this community to help you. Please provide more as others have requested.

Good Luck Silchad1. I came here b/c I had a similar slow transaction entry issue that just appeared for me in the latest update (R59.6).
My quicken file size is a bit big at ~200MB. The delay definitely felt like a step change with the update rather than something gradual, not sure why.
The "Memorized Payees List" under Options has "Memorized Payees List Maintenance". There you can delete items that haven't been used in the past 3 years. My unused list was around 4,400. So I did full backup first (always backup!), and then purged the list. The transaction entry speed is back to normal.
Good luck, hopefully it's something easy like that.
