Investing views need fixing

Other than my cash accounts, my assets are heavily invested in an active 401(k) account, a personal rollover IRA account and my spouse's IRA account. All of these update their share prices in the evening, though the 401(k) updates do not post until the following morning.

So, when I go to the Investing tab, the Dashboard view always shows Today's Change $0.00 (0.00%). We need to be able to choose a previous date (or simply "yesterday") in the dashboard view in order to make this useful.

On the other hand, switching to Portfolio view permits changing the date, and the grand totals at the bottom of the view update accordingly including the current Market Value and the Day Gain/Loss, however it fails to show the overall Percent Gain/Loss thereby forcing me to calculate the value manually.

In the Portfolio view there are several similarly-named columns. What is the exact title of the column that does not show an overall total?

For me the Gain/Loss (%) column does show an overall total. That column is Market Value/Cost basis as a percentage change. The Day Gain/Loss (%) column also shows an overall percentage. That is today's Market Value/yesterday's Market Value as a percentage change. In either case the change data will only be valid if the price data is current.

Sometimes the Price Day Change and Price Day Change (%) columns do not update even if current price data is available. In that case, changing the As of date back by one day and then returning to the desired date forces Quicken to recalculate those columns. Is that what you are seeing?

The Price Day change and Price Day Change (%) do not have overall totals because they are based on the share prices rather than the market value and thus totals are not meaningful.

It took me a bit to figure it out - my Portfolio view was not displaying the Day Gain/Loss (%) column at all. Turns out that I needed to customize the view...
