Using Quicken Deluxe for Windows.

Since 8/22, I do not see the memo field values in my Citi Visa downloads in quicken. Is anyone aware of a solution for this?

One possibility is that the following box is checked, and if so, uncheck it to get your desired outcome.

    - QWin Deluxe user since 2010, US subscription on Win11
    - I don't use Cloud Sync, Mobile & Web, Bill Pay/Mgr

If this box is checked, then unchecking it will allow downloaded info to be included in the Memo field going forward, again. However, it will not populate the Memo field of previously downloaded transactions.

If you want to see the missing Memo data for those previously downloaded transactions, you can click on the table icon directly above the account register balance column and then check the box for "Downloaded memo". That will add another column for that in the account register.

The "Don't update" box is not checked in my account settings.

I viewed the downloaded memo field for past transactions and those values are also blank since 8/22.

What is the connection method that your Costco Visa is set up with? Did you change the connection method starting with 8/22?

I am still getting the Memo downloaded with DC (via Citi Cards) in my main data file. But in a test file I have this card set up with EWC+ (also via Citi Cards) and there is no data being downloaded in the Memo field.

For me, in my Citi Costco card, the Memo field hasn't downloaded anything since late April 2024.
Before that date, all it ever downloaded was the card holder's name (which I don't need).
The Downloaded Payee Name has enough information to identify the merchant name.

April 2024: Did you migrate from DC to EWC+ at that time?

Yes, I should have mentioned that the downloaded Memo with my DC connection only shows the Name of the person on the card…in my case, my name or my wife's name. Pretty worthless information for most people but perhaps helpful to couples who want to know who spent what without needing to Tag each transaction.

I stayed on "Citi Cards" with DC for the longest time, until I started getting some problems and changed to "Citibank" / EWC for a while. Currently I'm using "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi" / EWC+ and it seems to work OK.

Instead of the multitude of available selections, what we really need is one Citi connection that works.

Yes, it would be great if Citi and Intuit would clean up the number of FIs so there are just a few….maybe one for DC (if it will continue to be offered for a while) and one for EWC+. Of course, many of the retail cards might not fit so nicely into that scenario so they might need to continue having their own FIs.

Regarding EWC+: I have my Costco Visa and Citi Rewards+ credit cards still set up with DC (via Citi Card) in my main data file. I have them also set up with EWC+ in 3 different test files….one with Citi Cards, one with Citibank and one with Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi. All of these setups have been working well for me the last 1-1/2 weeks.

My Citi Costco Visa connection type is EWC+. How do I change it to DC?

I attempted to deactivate and reconnect, and it uses EWC. I don't see a way to choose DC.

Note that Citi has messaged there is an EWC+ transition that will be occurring on 10/22. We do not know which accounts this will affect, nor do we know which connection methods this will affect. But my guess is that DC and/or EWC (EWC is still used with some Citi retail cards) will be going away at that time. If you still wish to set up your Costco card with DC, see the steps listed below this picture.

DC setup steps for the Costco Visa card (and some other Citi credit cards):

    1. If you have not already done so, you might want to enter and save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo field of that transaction. This is not critical to the process but it can be very helpful should the Opening Balance transaction dollar amout get changed during the connection method change process.
    2. Backup your data file.
    3. Deactivate your Costco card account.
    4. Then click on this link to see the rest of the steps in my post dated 9/28/2024: Costco Citi Visa Not Updating Quicken again..
    5. When the DC setup process is completed, if your account balance is wrong, check the Opening Balance transaction. If the dollar amount does not match the amount you had previously entered into the Memo field, then correct it to match what is shown in the Memo field.

Ah! I believe I saw this message and updated around that time in August. It's quite possible this is what made me lose the memo field in subsequent downloads.

    Thank you for your help!
