Program won't load without internet
I'm in Florida. During our recent hurricane we lost internet connectivity. When I tried to load Quicken Business and Personal to use manually it would not load. It would start and then stopped responding. Repeated pc reboots did not alter the situation. Other programs were starting and working fine. I have a copy of the program on my laptop as a backup and it started up without issues. I'm using a Windows 11 device with the latest cumulative update. Now that the internet is restored the program loaded without a hitch. Is this a known issue for Quicken on Windows 11 or do I have a setting that requires the internet to be present? Thanks for your advice.

If your internet is down, Quicken will have an issue trying to "phone" home, but if you disable (turn them off) your network adapters, Quicken won't try to phone home and start successfully. There is no setting in Quicken that controls this.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind the next time it happens. It is curious though that the laptop is connected to the router via an ethernet cable and yet the program loaded without any issues. One would think both would have the same problem. Oh well, the wonders of technology. (Perhaps the programmers can find a way of aborting the "call home" protocol when it fails). Thanks again.
