Use Edit>Find/Replace from the menu bar. You can use the filters to select the desired transactions in bulk and replace the current category with the desired category.

I own quicken and I’ve been using it for a while, I want to learn to print out a monthly comparison between the amount of money I spend and the amount of money I earned each month. I’ve been using quicken for quite a while to print out my check register, which was my main reason why I purchased quicken. Overall the software is what I want to use for my purposes.

i’m gonna ask this question again. I didn’t get the answer to the question.

when creating a new category and setting it up as sub category. I Needs to select The category which the new category is under. If you look at the above picture, you will see that Via Benefits comes first And alarm companies come second.

the list is not in alphabetical order. Is there a way of putting these categories in alphabetical order?

@Rbuckpi In your Category list, which column header has an arrowhead adjacent to the header name?

Which direction is it pointing … because it seems that your cat list is being sorted by something other than name.

to answer your question this is the category list. the category list points up and the other listings don’t have arrows. I hope this answers your question.

the second picture showing the category list to the right of category with no arrows, does this help you out?

Those 2 pictures are not your category list. Those are the transaction register SORTED by category. Go up to Tools - Category list. I don’t understand what you are saying about the second picture…category list to the right of category…?

I believe I understand now, the category list is in alphabetical order, and when I move the arrow the other direction it starts like letter Z and ends up with the letter A, which is backwards either way it stays in order, so I don’t know what happens when you create a new category and add a subcategory the sub category.

Could It have something to do with when the category data was entered?
