HSA Investment Not Downloading Detailed Transactions

I could use some advice. I have an HSA account at Bank of America. That account has two sub-accounts: an HSA cash account and and HSA Investment (brokerage) account. Bank of America does not support detailed transactions for the accounts. They only allow "Simple" tracking of the account balance only.

Every pay period, I transfer a pre-tax contribution to my HSA Cash account that is automatically transferred to my HSA Investment account. When the transfer is made to my HSA Investment account that is already balanced with my bank balance, this creates a false increase in the balance of the investment account.

Correctly recording these transfers is imperative for income and expense reports to be accurate.

Attempting a workaround, I downloaded all transactions from my HSA Investment account as a .CSV file. This is the only export method allowed by BOA. When I attempted to import the transactions into my HSA Investment account, Quicken created a new account and would only allow to set the account type to Savings, not Brokerage. This prevents me from properly tracking holdings in the account.

The only path forward I see is to disconnect the account from BOA and manually enter every HSA Investment transaction manually. Has anyone found a better solution?

If you do a Google search for

allintext: Bank of America HSA site:community.quicken.com

you'll find that it just seems that BofA doesn't play nice with Quicken with respect to HSAs. I literally could not find the word "Quicken" at the BofA site even logged into my only BofA entanglement, a credit card.

You might try Official Quicken Support to see if they have some sort of answer but I expect that you're going to have to work that HSA Account manually.
