Stock Quotes
Market done open for 15 minutes and my stock quotes are still at zero. Quicken needs to do a better job on updating stock quotes

@Bill Chip Smith I'm guessing your stock quotes flowed in shortly after you posted, right? 😉 I'm seeing quotes coming into Quicken normally.
Quicken's securities prices are provided by an unknown third-party provider. Quicken has never offered real-time quotes; it is normal for them to be 15-20 minutes behind real-time. If you're a day trader or high-frequency trader, Quicken may not be the right tool for you for organizing your trading. In order to provide real-time quotes instead of 15-20 minute delayed quotes, Quicken would likely need to switch to a different quotes provider service, and there would likely be a much higher cost — possibly passed on to users? — for them to get real-time quotes.

Yes, and some quotes still have not updated

It looks like if the ticker symbol is not on your watch list it doesn't update. Is that the case?

You should get updates for anything you currently hold as well as anything on your Watch list (with the caveat that mutual fund prices don't update during the day unless they're ETFs). I'm not sure how often the updates are downloaded if you just leave Quicken open & running all day long.

Quicken doesn't automatically update quotes during the day unless you click a setting for it to do so. In Settings > Connected Services, there is a checkbox for "Automatically update investment quotes every 60 minutes." I believe that other than that setting, all quote updates are manual by clicking the Refresh icon in the Portfolio or Investing Dashboard screens, or the Accounts update button at the top of the left sidebar.
