Checking balances (same screen) do not agree

Checking balances (today, projected and online) are all in agreement. The account balance on the left side is in agreement. The balance column on the ledger (right) is NOT in agreement. Quicken is telling me in four places what the correct balance is, but on the balance column, it puts out some random number. I have manually gone through online bank transactions, and there is no discrepancy. This has to be some kind of software error. I recall seeing it once before.

Is the text in the Balance column of the register in italic? That indicates the register is not showing a correct balance because it is not sorted in date order. Try clicking on the Date column heading once or twice (depending if you prefer newest at the top or bottom) to insure the register is displayed in date order.

No, it is not in italic. Also, clicked the date column. No change. Thank you.

@Hairy Ok, good. So now let's make sure we're talking about the same things and have checked for settings discrepancies. Here's a screenshot of a portion of a left sidebar, the Sidebar settings, and the upper right and balance column of an account register:

The upper right balance is set to show "Today's Balance"; the Sidebar Settings is also set to "Show Today's Balance in Sidebar".

The upper right Today's Balance equals the value for the account in the left sidebar and equals the running Balance column value in the register: all $89,349.24 in this example.

If I understand you correctly, your settings are the same, and you're seeing the Today's Balance in the upeopr right match the sidebar, but the value in the running Balance column is different? And you're looking at the last value below the green line (if you have the resister sorted to newest on top) in the register? Can you post a screenshot of the right side of the register like I have above? (If there's any personally identifiable information, you can black it out before posting.)

As you can see, the running balance under the green line is different. $12611.13 (correct) v $10664.36. Today's, projected and online balances all agree, upper right. Thanks!

I finally found the problem. I had to clear the filters.

@Hairy Thanks for coming back and posting that you found and resolved the problem. 😀👍️

I thought clearing filters had been mentioned earlier in this thread, but I just re-read it from the top and see that it wasn't; I was apparently conflating this thread with another I had been reading around the same time. I'm sorry for not mentioning it right at the start, as clearing filters is almost always a good first troubleshooting step.
