Turn off balance adjustment feature in Reconciliation
I use Quicken Deluxe and for the most part like it. Lately every time I reconcile an account, I have a balance adjustment that is automatically inserted into my calculations. The problem being that it is adjusting for pending transactions that will be reconciled in the next monthly report. As near as I can tell it just gums up my numbers and if all goes well it will be deleted anyway! I do not download from my Bank and use their monthly statement to reconcile. Is there a way to turn off this feature?

Please explain how you're doing that reconciliation. To the downloaded "Online Balance"? To the actual balance of the account (either from a paper statement or by viewing the website)?
Because "Pending transactions", that haven't posted to the account, shouldn't be included in the balance that you reconcile against. Have you actually recorded these in your account?
Are these transactions on or before the As-Of date of the reconciliation?

Thank you for getting back to me, the main problem is I cannot close my reconcile report without doing a balance adjustment. I just want the option to turn off the balance adjustment feature.
1. am using a paper reconcile sheet from my Bank. I do not use online balances. My quicken is stand alone.
2. pending transactions are in my account
3. they are included in my reconcile period but are not cleared.
