HP Financing / Comenity

Trying to add a Comenity account which is the third-party for HP Financing. Not seeing an HP option there but I'm seeing lots of other Comenity options.

What would be the cause? HP and Comenity not having an agreement to provide integration with Quicken?

When a retail co-branded card does not have its own listing in Add Account it usually is because of one of two reasons:

    1. The retail company did not wish to pay the credit card company the I/T cost to set up and manage it with Intuit (the aggregator and owner of the FIDIR List). So, it was a business case decision to not support Quicken.
    2. The retail card can perhaps be downloaded from the credit card company's own Add Account listing. This is not always the case but it sometimes does work. Have you tried to set up your download connection for HP via the Comenity Credit Card set up link in Add Account?

Comenity is not unique on this matter. One of these things also occurs with some of Citi's and Synchrony's retail co-branded cards.

Thank you for the suggestion. Oddly, when you type "Comenity" into the search field during the Add an Account process, "Comenity Credit Card" DOES NOT appear as an option. How's that for search algorithm brilliance?

It appeared after typing "Comenity Credit Card" in the field but still failed when using my Comenity creds so I'm guessing they don't offer Quicken integration for HP Financing accounts.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. And it is not an issue unique to Comenity Credit Card. I've seen this same thing happen with other FIs and they only show up in Add Account when you type in the full FI name.

It does appear that your HP card does not support Quicken. You could double check and see if it support Quicken via Web Connect and we're just missing something in Add Account. To do this, log into your HP credit card online account and check to see if they allow for downloading transactions in QFX (sometimes also referred to as "Quicken" or "Web Connect") formatted files. If they do have that option, you could try manually downloading and importing in that format. After Quicken accepts the manual import it will set up a new credit card account for it (or give you the option to Link the imported data to an existing account in Quicken). Then if there is a better connection method available, Quicken should direct you to they correct connection setup link. But even it there is no better connection method available, if this WC process works then you would at least have a download process available, even thought it would be manual.

If QFX format is not available but they do offer downloads in Excel, QIF or OSF formatted files, there is a free file conversion program that you can download. It can sometimes convert files in those formats into a QIF formatted file that you can then import. I haven't used this conversion program myself but many have posted in this forum (including some Super Users) that it works well. If interested, you can read up on it and download it from https://www.quicknperlwiz.com/ .

Otherwise, your only other option will be to manually set up and manage the credit card account.
