Problem with multiple Credit Cards on Citi Card account. (Windows version)

Hello, I have one Citi credit card account, and my wife has another. We experienced no issues with downloading transactions until about a month ago. At that time, one of the accounts stopped downloading, while the other continued to download normally. To resolve the issue with the non-downloading account, I reset it, which seemed to work, but then the other account stopped downloading. I've had to reset the accounts approximately once a week to download all transactions.

I noticed a similar question for Mac users. The response suggested checking the FAQs, but when I clicked on the FAQ link, I encountered a 404 error.

Last week, I updated my Quicken software to version R59.35, build 27.1.59.35.

Could someone assist me with this issue?

@nhewitt11 - Thanks for that additional information.

And which Citi financial institution in Add Account are they set up with? Citibank? Citi Cards? Or which other one? I don't remember which institution I selected when I set the accounts up. But when I reset the accounts is shows online.citibank.com.

What is important is the Add Account financial institution (FI), not the URL. If you go to Account List the account that is still connected will show Citibank or Citi Cards or Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi or some other Citi name as the FI. Do not do anything with the connection for that account.

Before proceeding, I suggest doing the following:

    1. Enter and save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount into the Memo field of that transaction. This is a proactive measure that can be of much assistance if/when changing a connection method causes the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount to be changed. It makes it very easy to identify when it has happened and how you can fix it. It would be a good idea to do this for all of the Spending accounts.
    2. Back up your data file.

For the other account that is not connected: In the search field of Add Account, type in one of the other Citi FIs and try to set up downloads with it. For instance if your still connected account is set up with Citibank, then in the search field type in Citi Cards and try to do the account setup process with that one.

If that one does not work, try typing in Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi (don't get hung up about the credit card name because this FI works with other Citi credit cards, too) and try to set up downloading with this one.

Or if Citibank is not the one that your still connected account is set up with, then try using Citibank with your account that is not connected.

It's a bit of a long shot so there is no guarantee that doing this will work but in theory it just might because the connection set up is coming from a different Citi FI with a different ID. So maybe it will "fool" Citi and allow for 2 separate download FIs to be used.

Let me know if this works for you. If it does, I think there will be others who will find it to be very helpful for them, too.

Are both accounts accessed with the same login information or do you have different logins for them?

Also, which specific credit cards are they?

Are both accounts accessed with the same login information or do you have different logins for them? They have different logins. One is in my name (with its own PW and ID, and the other is in my wife's name (with her PW and ID). And it worked just fine until around a month ago.

Also, which specific credit cards are they? They are both Citi double cash cards.

And which Citi financial institution in Add Account are they set up with? Citibank? Citi Cards? Or which other one? I don't remember which institution I selected when I set the accounts up. But when I reset the accounts is shows online.citibank.com.

    Thank you for your help.

Both accounts were Citibank. I changed the account that was not downloading to Citi Cards, and now that account is downloading.

Initially, I received a CC-800 error that the account that I changed to Citi Cards was not found at Citibank. (Makes sense.) So I reset the account at Citibank, and the error went away.

I did one step update multiple times and everything was fine.

    Thank you.

I'm glad it worked for you. There are others who are experiencing the same issue you did. Perhaps this workaround will work for them as well. Thanks for posting your results back here. It is very helpful.
