I did an inkind transfer from one account to another and now my cost basis in the new account isn't accurate. How do I manually update the cost basis of the shares in the new account? Im looking everywhere and can't see a way to do it.

Assuming you used an Add Shares transaction to place the shares in the new account, the cost basis will be recorded in that transaction., You can either enter the total value of that lot of shares or you can enter the share price, whichever you prefer - just click the pencil icon next to whichever one you want to enter. You can also enter the date the shares were originally acquired.

You might consider deleting however you recorded the transfer from one account to another, and then doing it using the Transfer Shares transaction type.

This is a feature designed to do exactly what you did in the real world: make an in-kind transfer from one account to another. In the original account, it will record a Remove Shares transaction; in the receiving account it will create a series of Add Shares transactions, one for each purchase or reinvestment in the original account. Those Add Shares transactions will all be dated on the date of the transfer, but each Add Shares transaction will have its own Date Acquired, which recreates the original cost basis in the new account.

Thanks to you both. I did the total cost edit from the first comment in an Add shares transaction. I have all the transaction detail but total cost basis is fine for my needs. Thanks much
