Check Number blank, Payee and Download Payee only shows "Check Number XXX"
For at least a year anytime a check transaction is downloaded via OSU the Check Number field is blank. The Payee Field shows the word "ImageCheck" and the Download Payee shows "CHECK-IMAGECHECK#XXXX".
I have numerous checking accounts at Bank of Oklahoma and all are affected. Can't catorgorize in Quicken with just "Image Check".
I posted this issue a long time ago and nothing got fixed. Trying again to get resolution….

When you write a check, do you immediately record a transaction in your account register with correct Payee Name, Check number, Category, Amount, etc.? What date do you put on this transaction: today, a future due date, other?
Or do you wait for the check to clear and download from the bank before you try to figure out what this check is for?Do you automatically accept downloaded transactions into your account registers?
The bank has never had payee name and other information for a check and most likely they never will have. All they have is the check number.
Of course, it would be nice if the downloaded transaction contained the check number in the Check# field, in addition to what they put into the Payee Name field.
If your transaction download uses Direct Connect, the bank is responsible for creating the downloaded transactions and you would have to discuss this with the bank.
For Express Web Connect, Intuit as the download service provider would have to review their screen scrape process, to provide the Check# contents … You would have to contact Quicken Support and report this as an Online Banking issue, for review by and escalation to higher support levels.0 -

STATEMENT 5: CHECK NUMBER FIELD USED TO POPULATE AS DID THE PAYEE AND DOWNLOAD PAYEE.
STATEMENT 6: DON'T USE DIRECT CONNECT
STATEMENT 7: I DO USE EWC….WENT THRU SUPPORT LONG AGO WITH NO RESOLVE… BANK SAID IT IS QUICKEN ISSUE. IT WORKED FOR YEARS….

Thanks for responding. There really is no need for yelling (writing in ALL CAPS is considered yelling).
If something changed and the check number is no longer included in the downloaded transaction record's Check# field, then Intuit as the download service provider must be made aware of that issue.
The Quicken Community cannot knock on Intuit's door and request this to be researched. It is (unfortunately, IMHO) up to the individual user to call Support on the phone and request escalation. If / when enough users report a similar problem thru Support, this may eventually get fixed.Meanwhile, I recommend that you record a transaction into your account register when you write a check, with all the correct information. When the check clears a few days later, Quicken should be able to match the downloaded transaction to the already existing register transaction. Worst case, you may have to manually match the downloaded trasnaction to the correct register entry. The autopilot in Quicken which attempts to do that for you is not perfect.

@ukr I was not yelling… one handed typing on that post… so I just set caps lock….
Shouldn't have to do what you recommend. For years it just worked….
@Quicken Janean : Reminds me I need to get an update from Q on an issue where CD's that post interest every quarter at the FI don't download to Quicken as Quicken flags the account as "dormant" at 90 days. Asked Q to set "dormant" to 95 days but still waiting. Have to manually add the interest quarterly even though the OSU checks each CD (and there are many) every time an OSU is done.
