Reconcile to bank statement not online balance

I'm running a Mac version of Quicken 2017, version 4.8.6. For years I have reconciled to my bank statement not an online balance. In fact, I have never downloaded my account information. But this month when I tried to reconcile, the screen opens with a heading at the top which says, "Reconcile to the online balance". I can't find an option for switching back and forth between these two options. Why all of the sudden do I get this option selected? I read in someone elses post that to switch between these options, go to "Accounts List > Reconcile Using Online Balance" and uncheck it. None of my menu options have an Accounts List heading.

Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, are you seeing a Reconcile screen like this at the top:

If so, all you need to do is click the "Back" button there to return to the starting Reconcile screen, where you can choose to "Use Statement Balance":

Then click Next, and you'll be back to normal.

(What like happened is that you inadvertently entered a value in the Online Balance field, and once you clicked Next, Quicken displayed the screen for reconciling to the online balance. You may think you wouldn't have done that, but you probably did. 😂)

That "Back" button confused a lot of users, because looks like a grayed-out button you wouldn't think to click on. In an update after 2017, the developers made some changes to the Reconcile screen, including using standard macOS buttons, so "Back" is no longer a gray button.
