Transaction Issue Investment Accounts

Sometime starting in February 2024, transactions that were supposed to be Interest deposits to 3 different Investment accounts but ended up being categorized as transfer payments out of one account. I kept having reconcile problems but didn't understand why until now.

The first picture shows the account that no transactions were supposed to be entered as withdrwX and had a transfer account listed in the 2nd picture. The 2nd picture is the expansion of the transaction shows the account that it was actually destined for in the first place to the right of memo. The third picture shows the account that actually received the interest payment from the broker but has the corresponding category of a transfer from the 1st picture. These were all entered as transfers by mistake.

How do I fix this? Can I go into the account that the interest payment was originally destined for and categorize it as Interest Income? Some accounts are taxable and some are not so I don't how to categorize it.

A Withdraw (or WithdrwX) transaction both expect that money was first deposited into the account, in your case probably via a Div transaction.

SO, take a backup (just in case) and then change those Withdrwx transactions to INTX, which will record the interest received and transfer such to the other account all in one step. OR, just as INT if you want the funds left in the original account.

@NotACPA I think I accidently coded them as transfers. Can I just remove the transfer in the account that the interest was deposited in as INTX and then it will remove them as WithdrwX?

You'll need to change those txn one by one from WithdrwX to INT (or, IntX if you want to move the funds to another account)

Alternatively, since in your example they're all on the same date, you can record the individual INT transactions followed by a single WithdrwX to move all of the funds at once to the other account.
