@mark303 - the data file I opened was my production file last used and saved in 7.9.1. I would have tried backups, copies, etc., had that one not worked, but it did.

@mark303 - It was password protected, too.

    Thank you for your replies,

I'm glad to hear you found a file that worked @Len Meyer.

Is anyone still encountering this issue?

    Thank you!

Has the issue with not being able to open a 7.9.1 data file after updating to 7.10.1 been resolved? I haven't tried it again and don't want to go through the effort if it's still causing the same error. I can stay with 7.9.1 until Quicken provides a fix in a future 7.10.x version.

Found out that this is a known and ongoing issue: ONGOING 11/20/24 Unable to Open Data File after updating to QMac 7.10.0 / 7.10.1

There were a few weekly updates, but only to say that it remains ongoing (since November 6th) and that there is no ETA, now there has been nothing since November 20th.

Really need to get this resolved and there is no way of getting any information or help.

    Hello @mjfq,

I merged your discussion with the ongoing discussion on this issue.

To help troubleshoot this, is your file password protected? If it is, then please try this process: Revert your Quicken for Mac to version 7.9.1, then open a pre-conversion version of your file (a backup from before your Quicken upgraded to 7.10), remove the password (go to Quicken>Settings>Security, click Remove Password, then input your password in order to remove it), then upgrade your Quicken to the latest version and test to see if that backup you restored and removed the password from works in the current version.

For instructions on restoring a backup, see this article:

You can use this article to roll back to version 7.9.1:

Please let me know how it goes!
