The download / reauthorization process for the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi continues to fail. I have had this card since 2016 with few problems downloading up until Sept 2024. At that time, Quicken disconnected the online login and requested (re)authorization. The error continues to be as below. I have (temporarily) turned off all MFA and cookie blockers. I can directly login in on all browsers. I am opening this new discussion to ask anyone else with this problem to vote by adding to this discussion. If you have a solution, please share it. Thank you.

Have you tried deactivating the online service for the account and then activating from scratch? I had an issue when I was prompted to convert from direct connect to EWC+ and that is what worked for me.

Thank you, Snorkle. Quicken completely inactivated the online connection to the account in September. It is now remains fully deactivated as every attempt to activate fails as above. I am able to manually download a QFX transaction file from Citi Visa and import it the old school way.

I used to have this issue, too. Not just with my Costco Visa card but also with several other (not all) EWC+ connection financial institutions. What I found out is that there were some some browser extensions that can interfere with the authorization/reauthorization process.

What you might want to try doing is temporarily disabling ALL of your default browser extensions. Then try doing Add Account and completing the authorization process. When the process is completed you can then enable those browser extensions, again.

For me, when I do this, the EWC+ reauthorization works every time without fail.

I've posted this many times in this Community and have gotten many responses that it worked for them, too.

After a lot of trial and error, I found out that it was the Malware Bytes and Ad Blocker Plus extensions that were causing the problem for me. But others have said there were other extensions that caused the problem for them.

Same problem. Have Malwarebytes and still trying to figure out disable, allowing etc. Changing the financial institution in the setup is not an editable field on android desktop. Not sure how some are changing that field. This started about 12/2/2024 for me. What a time-consuming mess… :-(

My prior post is about going into the Windows desktop/laptop browser settings. Then click on Extensions & Themes and then the Extensions can be disabled (and re-enabled later). I'm not sure how that might work in an Android O/S system but I would think that it would be the same.

    Thank you for the feedback.

Mine is now working again after I performed a manual download of recent transactions as a QFX file from Citi Visa. Once I clicked on that file and did the MANUAL processing, the next Quicken Update functioned flawlessly.

BTW, I had removed all website anti cookie and tracking software features I use on most websites in Chrome and in Edge.
