The balance on Quicken isn't matching the statement balance
Lately, as part of developing my 2025 budget, I've been importing previous year transactions using the PDF statements from those years to give Quicken historical data to work with.
This might be because I haven't done a proper reconciliation of my accounts, but I've found that despite having months where every transaction shown by my statement makes it to Quicken, my Quicken registers show me as being massively overdrawn and my credit card balances being much higher than they should be. Is there a reason why transactions would show up in a different order on my statement than how Quicken downloads them?

Hello @nomadintrovert,
You mentioned importing PDF statements, however, Quicken does not import .PDF files. Are you by chance using a third-party tool to import?
Regarding the different order on the statement compared to what Quicken downloads, different financial institutions format their statements differently, most likely this is caused in a difference with the way the data is formatted on the statement compared to how it is sent/imported into Quicken.
Let me know!

@nomadintrovert I'll also note that if what you're referring to is transactions in different order on particular dates, Quicken allows you to drag transactions up or down to put them in the order of your choosing for any date.
As mentioned above, it might help to know how you are actually inputting data into Quicken. you said you were using PDF statements, but Quicken doesn't import PDF files. Are you instead downloading .QFX files from your financial institution and importing them into Quicken?
I would go back to the earliest month you started with and, since you have the statement, reconcile that month. You might find there's an issue with an opening balance transaction Quicken created. If not, does that first month reconcile? If so, you could proceed month by month until you find a discrepancy, or you could try jumping ahead 3 months of 6 months and starting a reconciliation to see if it works or reveals a discrepancy.
