Best Way to Restart Quicken Files

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am reinstalling Quicken. I thought I'd take advantage of this to restart my accounts because, frankly, I don't really care how much I spent at Taco Bell 20 years ago and I some of the settings are messed up and there are payees there from 20 years ago (e.g. Taco Bell), etc. On the other hand, I do want to know how much I paid for Taco Bell stock 20 years ago for my investing records. What's the best way to create new Quicken files while keeping my old investment data (all of it!)?

To be clear: I reinstalled Quicken and I'm now faced with a choice of 1) Open a data file on this computer, 2) Restore a data file I've backed up or 3) Start over and create new file. And then, where do I go from there?

    1. Make a backup of your data file from the old computer and restore it on the new computer
    2. On the File menu, select Copy or Backup File
    3. Choose Year End Copy
    4. Select a date that you want your data to start from, use a future date si if you want it all gone.

NOTE: Investment accounts should not be affected by this purging action.

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
    - Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

That kept my accounts. I actually wanted to delete my accounts since at least one of them changed it's connection method and I couldn't get it back the way I wanted. I didn't clarify that was my goal. Anyway, I followed your instructions, then just deleted that one account completely EDIT: I completely turned off online services and then I'll try to set it up all over again from scratch. Thankx.
