I'm wondering if anyone has seen any specials on Quicken this holiday season?

I have checked quite a few retailers a few times this season and haven't really see anything. About the best I have seen is 6% at NewEgg.

I will probably just go with the 50% new user offer from Quicken.

    On November 25th I posted that Newegg was running a black Friday deal for Quicken Premier for 50 bucks. Ran for about a week and then ended.

    BestBuy had the physical deluxe edition (not premier) on sale during black Friday. My purchase history shows that I got my deluxe from Newegg in mid January on sale. I am referring to the one that is 'not' limited only to new subscribers of course. I am good thru early 2026. Is yours expiring soon?

    Mine expires in early January.

    @james.mccoy1 I must have missed your posting. I remember looking for specials on black Friday, but I had completely forgotten to check Newegg until just before I posted this thread. And @BK that goes for Best Buy too!!! I checked Amazon, Costco, Office Depot, and Staples.

    Oh well, I guess it was just my "bad shopping habits" that made me think the specials were different this year. 😁

    I was just curious about it more than anything else (nice game), not really concerned about the cost.

    Just like I was curious if I could use the "new user special" without any big disruptions. It certainly wouldn't be for everyone, but I did do that, and it was quite painless for my situation. I'm pretty sure it would be painful for people using online bills, especially payments, and maybe other online services, like maybe the credit score or sync to Mobile/Web. For me, It was just disconnect Express Web Connect + accounts and reconnect, and setup Zillow again (and of course create a new email/account and log out of old Quicken Id and into new one).

    I am sure you are planning to wait until the last day in case something comes up in the next few weeks. If I see it I will message you.

    Adding: Looks like Quicken's 50% off offer is good thru Dec 20!

    Amazon is showing Quicken Deluxe New Subscriber for 41.88 for now.
    Not sure how long it will last.

    @jl747 Interesting that the Deluxe is on sale, but not the Premier.

    @Chris_QPW

    I just saw that the Premier New User version is now on sale for 71.99. For now.

    It would be nice if they said when the Activation code was generated or when it expires.
    Released to Amazon when they sold it to them or when a customer purchases and downloads it.

    I purchased boxed Quicken (just a code inside) from newegg in April 2024, and held onto it until I hit my 6-month renewal window in August. The code applied without issues.

    That box says: "Activation code valid for 1 year after purchase." How do they know when you purchased it? Well, from previous experience, if you have issues applying the code, you have to contact support. They demand proof of purchase which is used to verify if you bought it within a year. No proof of purchase or you bought it to long ago? Tough luck. That's why you have to be careful when you stockpile Quicken codes when they go on sale. Better use those codes within the year. A few years back, I received boxed Quicken as a Christmas gift, and had issues with the code. The giver no longer had the receipt so I was SOL <sad trombone plays>.

    Not having to print expiration dates on the packages simplifies printing them since there's no longer a year associated with Quicken product name, e.g., "Quicken 2017 Deluxe" — it's all subscription now. Boxes without a year designation can stay on store shelves forever when before, stores probably had to cycle out boxes with old years.

    So, circling back, if you happened to buy Quicken from somewhere and they sent you a very old box, that code could have expired silently (Quicken support confirmed they do have an expiration date but wouldn't disclose how long they're good). So, if you find you've purchased an expired code, see paragraph 2 above.

    @jtemplin

    Thanks for the info.
    Good to know about the boxed version.
    But, what about the digital version. Like the what Amazon sells and also Newegg and others?

    Strange that Amazon is selling only New Subscriber versions.

    @jl747

    I don't know about the digital versions because I've never purchased that way. I seem to recall at newegg that if you're an existing user, they only offer key cards in boxes. The only download versions were for new subscribers (just checked now—that's true).

    No problem for me. I kinda like the warm fuzzy of holding a key card in my hand.

    @jtemplin

    Again thanks.

    I mostly have done digital downloads that had the Activation codes in the confirmation emails or within the Invoice.

    Sam's Club had Quicken Classic on sale for around $39 or so, + tax during Thanksgiving holiday. Think that ended in November though?? Maybe bring it back around Christmas???
