Transaction updates becoming unreliable
Quicken deluxe for windows, ver 60.15. The number of spending transaction errors is increasing at an alarming rate. This year there has been a notable number of corrections required to categories. Safeway has been home improvement, restaurant, even car service as default categories lately. This week during my bi-weekly account update I had more than a dozen transactions assigned to the same payee. Luckily it wasn't fraud. Unluckily I had to spend an hour correcting the payees via manually changing each error using info from financial institution database
Does anyone have a solution or is it time to jump ship

Do you have memorized transactions for those merchants? That could be the cause of your issues.
Do you have EDIT, Preferences, Downloaded Transactions, "Automatically categorize transactions" turned on? That could also be the cause.
The best practice is to input transactions before they download, OR to carefully inspect each downloaded transactions before accepting it and to NEVER "Auto Accept" downloaded transactions.

Just using it as it is. Never needed any additional effort for 10 years. Today In-and-Out became a clothing store! Also the place I get fuel a few times a month for a decade is now a hotel!
Nope, flaws have been introduced in recent upgrades IMHO. If Quicken is reading this please get the message

What specific FI (or any one) is this happening with? What's your download method from that FI? Direct Connect? Express Web Connect? What?
