Portfolio reports incorrect after Security transfer in QMac
Transferred stock from one brokerage account to another. The gain/loss columns show the gains as if all the shares were purchased as of the date of the transfer as opposed to over time. Is there a way to to get a report that shows the correct gains in the portfolio value report? The roi values are also incorrect in the performance report for the transferred stocks. I'm using Quicken for MAC - Classic Deluxe - version 7.10.1

@jstefely I'm not sure how you transfered the stock from one account to the other, but I can share the correct way (which is not completely intuitive), which will result in your original purchase dates and basis being retained.
In the original account holding the stock, create a new transaction. (That's the not intuitive part!) Set Type=Transfer Shares.
Enter the date this transaction took place. Select that you are transferring one security, and enter the Security you're moving. Select the account to Transfer it to. It will default to showing the number of shares owned, which is what you want if you're moving your entire holding of this stock. Press Save. And then here's what you'll see in Quicken:
- In the original account, Quicken will create a Remove Shares transaction as of the date you specified, removing all the shares of the stock from that account.
- In the account your transferred to, Quicken will create one or more Add Shares transaction, one for each date you acquired any shares of the stock through purchase or reinvested dividends. Those transactions will all be dated the same date of the transfer. But the key to this working is that when you open any of the Add Shares transactions, there is an additional field for Date Acquired. This is the original date the shares were purchased.
Quicken uses the Date Acquired, not the transaction date, to determine the correct gains and show the correct values as of any part date in the Portfolio view.
If your transfer was not done in this way, either by you entering manually or by downloading from your brokerage, you might want to delete the transactions relating to the transfer and then manually re-create the transfer as described above.
Hope that helps!

That fixed it, thank you. Apparently the automatic downloads just did an add/remove transaction in the respective accounts for the total shares on the date of the transfer. When I created a transfer shares transaction manually the individual transactions were recorded correctly
thanks again
