Account sidebar with negative balance but register is positive

Hi, I just noticed today one of my savings accounts is showing a negative balance in the account sidebar but in the register shows a positive balance. I cannot tell you when this started as I generally don't show balances in the account sidebar.

Where should I look to start troubleshooting this?

Quicken Classic Deluxe for Windows, R60.15.

Thanks in advance!

Jill

    Hello @45MPHK9,

Which financial institution are you experiencing this issue with? Do you update the account manually or via an online connection method? Are you receiving any error codes or messages? Did anything occur before this issue began?

    Let me know!

Are you showing "current" or "ending" balance in the Account Bar?

-splasher using Q continuously since 1996

    Boeing Employees Credit Union

    Update via online connection.

No error codes or messages. I have no idea when it started so cannot tell you what precipitated it.

Sidebar shows current balance. The values in the side bar and register are the same, except one is positive and one is negative.

Thank you both for the assist!

Could your account be set up as a credit card or loan account?

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

@volvogirl Good thought! It is set up as a savings account.

@volvogirl Actually! I just double checked and it shows account type "Checking" though I wouldn't think that would make a difference?

Look at the account's Opening Balance transaction. Is it correct? If you recently had to deactivate / reactivate the account for downloading, the OB transaction may have been changed incorrectly.

Are there any Balance Adjustment transactions in the register?

Got any Savings Goals set up which could impact the balance when included?
