Missing reconciled transactions.
I am using Windows 10 Quicken R60.15. I manually enter all transactions except my brokerage account and I balance accounts monthly when I receive statements. 3 months ago my Checking account would not balance and after a lot of hair pulling and comparing my register to backed up copies I found where my very first 3 transactions (from 1993) in that account had disappeared from the current register. I re entered them and everything is now fine. Today I went to reconcile a credit card account and it would not balance, looking back the very first transaction (2023) for that account had disappeared, entered it and it was fine. Why are old transactions disappearing? Obviously I have used Quicken for a very long time with over 50,000 transaction recorded and this is something very new happening.

Perhaps, are the disappearing transactions recorded as Transfers between accounts … and, if so, are you manually deleting the other side of the transaction (which will cause this side to be deleted also)?
Also, are there any Filters shown at the top of the misbehaving account registers? If a RESET button is shown at the top of any register, Click it.

Good thoughts, however these were not linked transactions. I looked for filters (I have not seen these before) and did not see any or a reset. thanks for the input.

Other than the cat walking across you keyboard, the only other thing that I can think of is a corrupted Q data file.
Have you tried validating your file? SuperValidating?
