Report customization - Select Accounts
I think that Quicken changed the behavior on the "Accounts" tab on reports, and I like the way it used to work. If you select the radio button for "Selected Accounts" (as opposed to "All Accounts"), you have four categories of accounts below that. They are "All accounts", "Banking", "Investing", and "Property and Debt". There are buttons for "Select All" and "Clear All" beneath the list of accounts. It used to be that if you were in any of the account types besides "All accounts" (i.e., Banking, Investing, or Property and Debt) that when you used the "Select All" and "Clear All" buttons it only selected or cleared the accounts listed for the category that is visible. Now, it clears all or selects all accounts in all categories. I think it was better the old way. If I want to select all Banking accounts but no other types, I should be able to do that using the Select All button but now I have to go and individually select just the accounts I want to use.

I agree. Select all and Clear all in the old interface only affects the accounts that are currently visible. If you want to select and clear all accounts, you can show all accounts and select or clear all there. This did cause some confusion, however, especially with Hidden accounts, so I think this change was intentional.
BTW you can switch back to the old interface by going to Edit > Preferences > Early access and un-checking the Report customization box.
Also the old interface divides the accounts into subgroups in its account list, such as Spending/Savings under Banking and Investment/Retirement under Investing, which I think is convenient. But I just noticed that with the old interface the Banking > Transaction report does not have a subgroup for credit cards under Banking; they are only visible in the All accounts group.
I edited the title of this discussion to clarify the issue.
