Default Reconciliation columns should match current Register columns (Q Mac)

Fellow user @tribbiani makes an excellent point about the Personal and Business edition of Mac Classic… that the Reconciliation window show the Business/Client/Billable columns by default - even if those columns have been turned off for the Register. He/she notes that the columns must be disabled for the Reconciliation window for every account (tediously). I guess we won't know until next month if the change "sticks" or has to be repeated each month.

This wish is for the columns in the Reconciliation window to reflect, by default, the visible columns in the associated account Register. Turn off "Business" in the Register - it should not show up in Reconciliation. Etc.

I understand the original issue with Business columns, but I don't think the reconciliation window should match the columns in the register. In my registers, I typically have the Memo, Transfer, and Tags visible, and all of those are typically clutter for me in the reconciliation window. And if I have an account (business or mixed use) with the three business columns visible, I don't know that I'd want them cluttering up the reconcile window. At least not in all cases, for all users; anyone who wants one or more of these columns visible can make it so, once, and it will stick. (Yes, columns set in a reconcile window persist.)

Turn off "Business" in the Register - it should not show up in Reconciliation.

I do agree that having to turn off Business Client and Billable columns in not only registers but each register's Reconciliation window is super annoying. I think Business, Client and Billable columns should be treated the same as Memo, Transfer and Tags: I think the default for a reconciliation window should be the minimum fields needed to do a reconciliation, and users should be left to add any additional columns they want.

Or perhaps there could be a button on the reconcile window, or perhaps an option on the Columns dropdown menu, to "Match columns on account register"?

All good alternative ideas, @jacobs I'd be happy with your suggestions.

Yes yes yes, this new feature, while undoubtedly useful to some, is driving me crazy – I cannot count how many times I have had to manually remove the new fields (and I'm not sure the changes "stick" in reconciliation windows.) Those annoying and unwanted fields (client, billable, etc.) show up everywhere, and prevent the stuff I actually need to see from fitting in the window. I'm actually tempted to downgrade to the non-business version of Quicken (which would cause me to lose some functionality I actually DO use) just to get rid of all the extra fields once and for all.

@Dave in SF Are there any places you’ve found where removing columns you don’t want does not stick? In other words, after the initial annoyance of having to hide columns in various windows, does the problem not go away?
