Show Tags in reconcile

Several institutions my wife and I hold credit cards with in joint accounts nevertheless issue the cards with different last four digits. When it comes time to reconcile, the each account statement is also grouped by those last four digits, and each grouping is date ordered. We faithfully tag each Quicken entry with the card's last four, but when it comes to reconciliation, there is no option to show the tags or sort by them.

In the grand scheme of things, this is not major. But when a statement may have 100+ entries, it becomes a bit cumbersome, can introduce errors, and is a productivity issue. (The solution for now is to take one group, mark all those in the reconcile window, then take the other group and mark all those. But since this means skipping through the reconcile screen, this still is a productivity thing to avoid introducing errors. It would be much simpler to mark things off sequentially on the reconcile screen for each grouping to match how statements are organized.)

Would appreciate it if you would consider adding the option to show tags and then order by them.

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have (at the bank) one card account but 2 card numbers and on the single statement, the transactions are subtotaled by card number. You're using Tags to track the 2 cards.

I have a similar situation (1 account, 2 card numbers) and I find your suggestion intriguing … but then even though this is our primary card, I've never found it that difficult to reconcile the account. Maybe that's because I download into Q using my account number only and transactions on both cards get downloaded … thus everything is already marked as "cleared" when I go to reconcile.

SO, without more info, I can't support your Idea.
