Does Quicken Classic Premier for Mac support real time quotes?

I receive conflicting information about whether Quicken Classic Premier for Mac supports real time quotes. The AI answer on the Quicken support site says that Premier does support real time quotes. However the instructions to enable them show the instructions for windows, and those menus/options are different on the mac. I have been running the Windows version for many years and now trying out the mac version to see if its adequate for my needs.

There's no setting in Quicken Mac that I know of that will change the quotes you get, so if it's not something that just starts automatically happening when it sees you have a Premiere level subscription or better then I don't think Quicken Mac supports it.

I don't think Quicken ever had truly real-time quotes. Unless something has changed quietly, the quotes always used to delayed by a few (up to 10?) minutes, for both Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows.

In Quicken for Windows, there is a box you can check to activate real time quotes—they may not be fully real time, but they are close. If I have both Windows and Mac versions open, the Windows quotes are different than the Mac quotes and much closer to real time. I kind of remember signing up for Quicken real time quotes years ago and vaguely remember that I had to answer some questions—(perhaps stating that I am not a professional user, but a home user?).

It would seem that if they have a "real time" service available for the windows version, it would be easy to add it to the mac version.

You must be thinking of some other program/service, Quicken Windows never asks this.

One would have to decide "qualify" "easy", and without seeing exactly what they had to do to get this to work in Quicken Windows, and what it would need in Quicken Mac I wouldn't jump to that conclusion, and it might not matter anyways since it might more about the priority of what feature to work on instead of the actual difficulty of implementing this.

I might add that there have been several reports that when people have turned on the "real-time quotes" in Quicken Windows Premier and above, they have seen "strange behavior" and ended up having to turn it off. Your mileage may vary of course.

I have never had a problem with Quicken Windows and real time quotes. It's been several years since they implemented.

Fair enough, I am not a coder, but just assumed that since they already access "real time" quotes from their quotes provider, they could simply point mac updates to the same server.
