Quicken subscriptions purchased from retailers (whether online or brick-and-mortar stores), including Sam's Club, can be a great way to sometimes save some money. But it is very important to make sure that what is being offered is not restricted to "new subscribers". If the offering says it is for new subscribers, then it cannot be used by existing subscribers and it will be a waste of money. So, carefully look it over (box or picture of the box and details of the online listing) before buying. If it says "new subscribers" anywhere, then disregard it because it will not be something you can use.
Most retailers who sell Quicken no longer sell the CD/DVD for it. Instead what they are selling is the activation code which the buyer simply enters into the Quicken.com account.
BTW, you might want to view this other thread which provides a link to NewEgg.com where there is a great promotion on Quicken products that can be used by both new and existing subscribers.: Re: Quicken Fee Increase.
