My IRA account is not coming down when trying to Add Account
I'm trying to add my ira account that is held at Wells Fargo, which is where may of my other accounts are. When I try to add this new account in Quicken (Premier) it asks me to enter my username/password for Wells Fargo and then it launches some security web page to confirm I want to Share Data with quicken.
When I go through that phase the webpages asks me as to which accounts I want shared with quicken. I can check mark my IRA and uncheck other accounts and when I click continue it goes back to quicken and reports that only checking/savings accounts are found and asks whether I want to Link to Existing, Add As New, Do Not Add…..but sadly the IRA account is never one of the accounts to Add As New. I really DO NOT want to add each and every stock and mutual fund by hand with qty of shares and weighted price per share.
I'm also concerned that if I DID enter the stuff manually, the Update button wouldn't actually update the tickers/price.
Anybody else successfully in creating their IRA accounts by simply connecting Quicken to their Financial institution?

As you might be aware, Wells Fargo has various entities that are associated with various activities. It appears that the bank entity - "Wells Fargo Bank, N.A" - holds IRAs, as does "Wells Fargo Advisors". Since you mention stock and mutual funds as securities in the IRA my guess is that it's actually Wells Fargo Advisors that you need to connect to, not the bank itself. So try using Wells Fargo Advisors as the financial institution and you might be successful.
These things can be confusing, generally, as most banks that have a "securities" arm of some sort frequently seat their personal inside a branch office of the bank.

I'll give that a shot.

@TomYoung
ok on the wells fargo IRA, your suggestion helped.(with some tweaks)
So I went and clicked on Add Account.
Then chose Wells Fargo Advisors
Typed my username/password and clicked next.It failed with a incorrect username/password (which they weren't)
Thankfully the error message hinted that I should go to https:/wellsfargo.com/fmssetup
So went to the site suggested
When I did that it asked for my username/password again, then prompted me with which investment accounts to link.
Came back to the Quicken window with the error and had the option to Try Again with the same username and password.
I chose which accounts to Add as New and which to Link to Existing and which to Not CreateAfter getting the new accounts created they had $0….in the upper right corner of the account window there was the Gear Icon from which I could Download Positions….doing THAT got my Funds, Stocks, Bonds, Cash with the right dollar amounts….
Tried to do the same thing for my wife's 401K with Empower Retirement(https://participant.empower-retirement.com/) , however, even though the institution is listed, Quicken wizard is doing the steps for adding the account as Offline. I added some of the funds' tickers, but some of the holdings are not tickers rather some Bonds and some internal accounts to the 401K….I am better off than I was, so thanks you for getting me that far.
