Are you using the Paycheck Wizard Income Reminder?
If so, please note the following:
- Roth accounts are after-tax contribution accounts so be sure to enter your contributions into the Paycheck Wizard as After-Tax deductions, not Pre-Tax deductions.
- Quicken does not currently support Roth 401(k) accounts, even though it shows it is an option in the Paycheck Wizard. What some people are doing is to enter the deduction as a transfer to a Roth IRA account so it better captures the tax-free benefit for Roth accounts than a regular brokerage account will and will not wrongly be captured as a pre-tax deduction. This Roth IRA account can be named "Roth 401(k)" if you wish.
- If you have a 2nd Roth account you are having paycheck deductions for, you can enter it into the Paycheck Wizard as an after-tax deduction by selecting Other After-Tax Deduction from the drop-down menu. Then you will get a pop-up where you can select a transfer to that Roth account as the Category.
