Failure to convert from QWin to QMac "created by an old version of the Quicken Converter"

Hi - I'm trying to migrate from QWin to QMac. I've sucessfully migrated one file but so far failing to migrate the 2nd one.
In QMac I do File → New and am eventually prompted to use Cloud Converter, which I agree to. The response I get is the first image below. I don't know how to interpret that message - I didn't pick which version of the Cloud Converter to use and I didn't create QDATA_2-export.qxf - I assume the Cloud Converter created that.
I proceed to try the Import path and get the second image below, telling me QMac cannot import the file.
I'm using QWin Classic Version R60.20 running in VMware Fusion on an Intel Mac. I'm trying to migrate to QMac Version 8.0.0 running on an Intel Mac with MacOS Version 15.2.
I'm stuck and would appreciate any help.
Thanks
Mike

I'm not sure why the cloud conversion didn't work - other than perhaps they are not keeping the code up to date with changes in QWin. Here are two other things to try:
Try a new blank QMac file and then go to File > Import and import your QDF there… just in case that doesn't use the problematic cloud converter…
If that doesn't work, go back to QWin, and from the File menu there, do an Export as a "Quicken Transfer Format (.QXF) File…
Then, back in QMac, try importing that QXF…
Let us know what happens :-)

Thank you for your help.
I tried your suggestion of starting from scratch and using File → Import of the QDF file. It said it was using the Cloud Converter but it got much further this time. Perhaps as you speculated using this path uses a different - and in my case, better - conversion mechanism.
Everything looks good except that [a] one account is off by a lot but I think I can fix it - the issues are all in cash transactions and [b] the totals are off by a few dollars, which I may try to figure out just because it bugs me.
Now I'm struggling to decide if I can handle the loss of reporting functionality. :-( For example there's no Portfolio Value and Cost Basis report, which is going to make managing investments hard, perhaps unacceptably so. But that's for another thread - the import problem is essentially solved.
Thank you very much!

there's no Portfolio Value and Cost Basis report
@mjs9876543210 There is no named report for this, but happily you can definitely create such reports.
- Click on Investing (or any sub-group or individual account) in the left sidebar
- Click on the Portfolio tab
- Above the graph, set the first filter to "Portfolio Value"; set the second filter to "By Account" or "By Security"
- Make sure the columns visible include Market Value, Cost Basis and Gain/Loss:
- If any of those columns are missing click the Column icon (above the graph on the far right, it's the second icon to the right of the Updated date), and you can add or remove any columns you want
- Once the Portfolio is showing the data you want, click the ••• icon in the upper right, and select Print
Voila! A Report with Portfolio Value and Costs Basis. 😁 (You can also export to .csv if you want to manipulate the data in a spreadsheet program.)

@mjs9876543210 Happy to hear your data came over for the most part. What I found when I migrated to QMac a few years ago is that some mysterious adjustment transactions were added at the oldest dates in some of my registers..Removing them got me the correct balances.

@jacobs Thanks very much. That gets me a long part of the way where I need to be.
The next problem is QMac has characterized some accounts that I want to treat as an Investing account as Banking Accounts (Checking or Savings) even though they are characterized as Investing accounts in QWin, which means they will not show up in the Portfolio view you describe. Is it possible to recharacterize Banking Accounts as Investing Accounts? The best workaround I can find is to create new accounts, move all the transactions and then delete the original accounts.

@mjs9876543210 That’s how you have to do it, unfortunately. There’s no way on Quicken Mac to turn Investing account into Banking accounts or vice versa.

@Jon Thank you for confirming.
Not only does QMac not support converting, when you go to link accounts online QMac (and/or my bank) won't allow me to connect this online account to an Investing account, only to a Banking account. :-( I think this means I either have to give up downloading transactions for these accounts or have to give up having the accounts I want in my Investing portfolio.
In spite of all the progress QMac has made I'm having a hard time escaping the feeling that I'm going to be better off with a VM and QWin.
Thanks again
