I don’t think that would be a good idea - not everyone exports a CSV with the intention of opening it in a spreadsheet, and not everyone uses Excel. Some folks need the number, not a formula.

Agree w/ @Jon. Seems like a marginal, at absolute best, idea to me. And, it's not apparent that Q even stores the "formulas".

This isn't even possible. There isn't even a "format" for "formulas" in CSV. The only thing that is stated for a format in a CSV file is that the columns will be separated by (usually a comma, but that can be changed) and how to escape characters like quotes.

This is why when you save to a CSV file in Excel that it warns you that you that there is going to be "data loss".

Note that I don't believe that Quicken Windows (don't know about Quicken Mac) even stores formulas in exported Excel files (even though it has been requested). I'm pretty sure even doing that would be very difficult.

@Chris_QPW I wondered myself after posting my initial response whether it was even possible to encode an equation into a CSV in a way that Excel would understand, but since I don’t think I’ve ever tried I couldn’t say for certain it wasn’t possible.
