Investments held by a business

Quicken Canada Subscription Member

Hi,

I am using Quicken Classic Business & Personal (Canada) R60.18. I have a business which recently invested in a small investment portfolio of marketable securities. Using Quicken to track the portfolio activity. However, when I run the reports - balance sheet and profit and loss statement —the investment activity is not reporting properly because Quicken considers all investment categories as personal income/expenses. Is it possible to use edit investment categories to allow for use as either business or personal?

Don't know if this is available in QCda, but try TOOLS, Account List, click EDIT adjacent to the account, click Display Options and under Account Intent see if there's a BUSINESS option.

Thanks but not it. Account is identified as a business account.

To clarify, the balance sheet shows total investments but not the correct value. I have since determined that it ignores the asset management fees paid. The asset management fee category is set up as a business expense.

The income statement doesn't show any income - whether dividends, interest income, or realized gains/losses. But it does pcik up the asset management fees as an expense.
