How long after the domestic markets close should I do a one step update

Domestic markets close at 4 PM ET. However, I have noticed that portfolio positions often don't update until the following day. I know that this is partly due to foreign equity prices not updating until the foreign markets close. So how long after the domestic markets close should I do a one-step update?

My broker, Fidelity Investments, doesn't complete updating their own website until about 6pm Eastern. So anything that I tried before then would be partial, at best.
SO, I'd wait until after then to see what happens. And, if you get incomplete (or no) results, try waiting another hour.
[Edit] My stocks at Fidelity get "real-time" quotes … so those quotes are available throughout the day. It's my funds that don't update until later [/Edit]

I've found that if I download from Fidelity before 6pm Central time it is not uncommon for some transactions and mutual funds prices to not get downloaded. So, I always wait until at least 6pm Central time to download and the downloads then have been very reliable for me.

AND, any transactions in my accounts (including my MMF which is my primary checking account) don't post until over night.
SO, I have "Scheduled Updates" set to happen at 7am Central (WELL before I get up) so that everything's current when I drag it out of bed and have had breakfast.
