How do I delete a loan payment I entered in error?

I have a car loan set up… I was going to pay it off - entered a transaction into checking account, but then decided to pay it out of another checking account. I deleted the transaction, but in the loan account it did not delete but increased the account balance by the amount that I was going to write. In the loan account I can not find a way to delete that transaction… it is deleted in the checking account register but I can not delete the transaction in the loan account

Does your loan account have an account register?
Connected loans do not have account registers so you cannot delete any transactions there because there are no transactions there that can be deleted. Instead, the lender simply downloads the current account balance when you do OSU…there are no transactions downloaded. So if your car loan is a connected account the only place you will have the car payment transaction will be in the register of the payment account. In this case you simply enter the car payment transaction into the other checking account using the same category that you used for other previous car payments.
If your loan is a manual offline loan it will have a register and then you should see the transaction in that register. If this is the case, you should see something listed in the Category field of the transaction in question. What does that say and how is that different from the Category that is shown from previous payment transactions?
