On the General tab of Account Details: Are you able to delete the financial institution information (everything above the Contact Name field)? If you can, delete that information and try doing Add Account, again.

If you can't, are you having download issues issues with any other accounts?

Have you tried File > Validate & Repair File? This can fix some data file issues. After running it, try doing Add Account, again. What was the result?

If you are still having an issue: Go to File > New Quicken File > New Quicken File > OK > give the file a unique name…TEST would be good. In this file try doing Add Account for your Citibank card. What was the result?

    Please provide some additional information:

    1. Which type(s) of account(s) are you trying to connect?
    2. Which connection method are they set up with: Direct Connect or Express Web Connect+? And which Financial Institution is the account set up with? (You can get this information on the Online Services tab of Account Details or in Account List.)
    3. Or are you trying to set up a new download connection (or trying to Reset Account or to Reauthorize)? And, if so, which Financial Institution is the account set up with?
    4. Please explain the detailed process you are using to connect and what you are seeing?
    5. Are you getting any error message(s) or error code(s)? If so, what are they?

    It's a citibank credit card.

    I've tried both connection types

    Citibank

I tried resetting it and when that didn't work I tried doing a new connection.

Click on account, click settings, set up online, add account, continue.

error message - We couldn't get information about citibank. This account will be set up as a manual account.

2nd way - downloand transactions from citibank website

double click downloaded file, go to quicken,

error message - quicken is unable to establish an internet connection (I am connected to the internet) ol-297-a, I click ok, next error message - Quicken is currently unable to verify the financial institution information for this download. Please try again later.

3rd way - right click account, edit/delte account, online services, set up now, continue

    error message -

We couldn't get information about citibank. This account will be set up as a manual account.

Sorry for the delay in responding. For some odd reason I just saw your response, now.

If you are still having an issue trying to set up the connection with Citibank: Have you tried using Citi Cards for Add Account? This one works with most Citi/Citibank credit cards.

Or you might want to try using Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi (this one you will need to manually type into the Add Account search field to find it)? Even though this financial institution says it is for the Costco credit card it actually works well with many Citi credit cards, including many Citibank cards.

A couple of things to do before you try these:

    1. If you have not already done so, enter and save the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount for each account into the Memo field. It is not necessary for setting up the connection but sometimes when making connection changes the Opening Balance transaction dollar amount gets changed. By proactively entering and saving it in the Memo field it is very easy to identify and correct when this has happened.
    2. Backup you data file.
    3. Make sure that your card is fully deactivated.

Let me know if any of this fixed your connection issue.

I tried your suggestions and got the same errors as before. I've tried adding a new account and I've tried connecting the existing account. "We couldn't get the details for this account, it will have to be set up manually."

    Thank you,

I just noticed it wasn't updateding, it had been for a long time. So I tried to reset the account and it wouldn't reset. I tried everything we discussed above and creating the test file. None of them worked. The error I am getting is - We couldn't get information about capital one card services. This account will be set up as a manual account.
