Can 2 Factor Authentication be setup for Quicken for Windows?

Question

I am looking for 2FA for my local Quicken file, not my individual financial institutions.

I believe I need to be signed into my Quicken account for Quicken to operate on my laptop so I assume this might be 2FA for my Quicken account?

If you're concerned with unauthorized access to your Quicken data on your laptop, how do you protect the laptop itself from unauthorized access while it's up and running and you have stepped away, leaving it wide open?

Once you have started Quicken and entered all your passwords (or the 2FA code), the Quicken program does not know or care who is sitting at your laptop, working on it while you're not looking.

So, if you don't want anybody from accessing your Quicken data, you need to be sure to password - protect your laptop using the Windows Password or PIN. Lock your laptop when you step away.

If you routinely allow others to use other applications on your laptop, set up additional Windows user IDs and passwords ("regular" IDs without administrator privileges) for the other user(s) and make them use their own IDs. Make sure they don't know your Windows password/PIN.
