New Year New File?

I've used Quicken for decades and in the way back I always started a new file for each new year.
When I first moved over to Quicken Classic, it seemed fine, but somewhere my investment accounts are not synching properly with my investment house.
They fluctuate in large amounts.
All other banking works fine and matches perfectly.
Not sure where the glitch is.
Not sure I want to wade through years of transactions to discover where the glitch is.
Can I / Should I just shut down as of December 31, 2024 and create a new file starting with this New Year? Will that potentially cure this?
THANKS!

Without knowing what the problem is, it's impossible to say if starting over would solve it. But it shouldn't be necessary to start over; modern Quicken Mac is designed to work with many years of data (I have over 30!) and many tens of thousands of transactions. And the issue could be with your brokerage company's downloads. (It might help diagnose things if you shared what brokerage company it is.)
One thing you could try is to create a new file and connect just your brokerage accounts to see if they work correctly. This doesn't preclude you from switching back and forth with your existing data file and using it until you decide whether to stick with the old or new file.

Thanks Jacobs. I think starting a new investments only file to see if it's right is a great idea.
