Quicken Mac File Repair

Please add a File Repair feature to Quicken Mac, like the Quicken Windows program provides. My Quicken Mac file continues to experience corruption issues. It has so many years of data that recreating the file from scratch is not feasible. Thank you

File corruption issues are pretty unusual for Quicken Mac. Are you storing your data file on iCloud or in a directory that's being synced to iCloud (or some other cloud service)? If so, that's likely the source of your problems; try moving the file back to your Mac's built-in disk in a location that isn't being synced to a cloud service.

@QknUser204 A file repair utility would require knowing what the problem is that needs repair, and if there is underlying data which is okay. For instance, if you had a thousand transactions with no category, it's doubtful a repair function could re-create the correct categories out of thin air. In the older style databases like that used by the original Quicken Mac and the current Quicken Windows, repair utilities can rebuild certain indexes from transaction data, but in the SQL database used by Quicken Mac, there aren't similar saved indexes which can be rebuilt.

I agree with what @Jon noted above about cloud storage often being the source of issues with Quicken Mac files. Additionally, although I don't know the details of what problem you're encountering, I'll offer a suggestion you might want to try if you haven't. I would try exporting your data in the Transfer File format (QXF); then create a new, empty file ("start from scratch") and then import from the QXF file. While this process will lose settings, saved reports, and attachments, it should preserve all your transaction data intact in a new, fresh database. (Of course, if the transactions have been edited with changed or lost fields, this won't bring back the original values in those fields.) This export/import process has solved problems for a number of users.
