I want to created a report where the only items are ones that have "ATM" in the Check#/Num column. Is this possible?

Thanks very much.

How about a quick and dirty way …

Open up the All Transactions view. Select the desired Date Range. Type "atm" into the Search field.
That will give you all banking transactions containing the string "atm" upper- lower- or mixed-case in any data field, not just "ATM" in Check #.

    Or:

Edit / Find/Replace is another method.
Let it Find [Check Number] [contains] [ATM]
You can print the results or select transactions to make changes.

Thank you very much, worked just fine. If only the search function was included in the Reports dialog so that the report could be saved. This, however, does the job. Regards.

This solution will extract any transaction that has the string "atm" regardless of capitalization or context. For example I have a couple of transactions that include the word "treatment" in the Memo field. This search will include those transactions because "atm" is embedded in the word "treatment", even though those transactions have nothing to do with an ATM withdrawal or expense.

OK, so search for " atm " or any other variation that works for you. OR, store "ATM" (w/ caps) in the memo field when you record the transaction, and then search for the capitalized string.

Thanks. I just learned to ignore the transactions containing embedded …atm…

I thought I used to be be able to use the Reports module to filter for values in the Check#/Num field, but I must be mistaken.

Also after filtering the All Transactions view for transactions containing ATM, you can click on the Check number column header to sort it so that all the real ATM transactions will be together.
