Using a subscription to Classic Deluxe on a Mac

  1. How do I stop quicken from automatically categorizing downloaded transactions unless they were previously saved as a memorized transaction?
  2. Is there a way to download transactions for multiple accounts but not all accounts? In other words, a way to check off certain accounts before starting the download.

For the first issue, you can try going to Settings > Connected Services and unchecking the box for "Automatically improve the quality of downloaded payee names and categories." That should, in theory, disable Qucken's server-based renaming and auto-categorization. There have been some scattered reports from uses saying is doesn't completely disable, but in my limited testing, it does result in non-renamed Payees and uncategorized transactions.

For the second issue, the answer is no… except in some cases. 🤣

    • If you have a Direct Connect account with a financial institution, you can select that account, then select Accounts > Update Selected Online account, and it will update just that one account. Unless you have other Direct connect accounts at the same financial institution, in which case they will all update.
    • If you have a Quicken Connect account with a financial institution, you can select that account, then select Accounts > Update Selected Online account, and it will update all Quicken Connect accounts you have in Quicken, across all financial institutions.
    • The Update All Accounts menu command or button at the top of the sidebar will always update all connected accounts.
