Why does Quicken download debits, but not the monthly payments on my VISA credit card?

I am using quicken classic premier subscription on windows. My wife and I each have a Chase VISA credit card. Beginning in July 2024, Quicken began crediting both credit card payments to her account. i deactivated and reactivated the accounts which seems to have stopped the erroneous credits to her account, but the payments do not show up on my account though all the debits are downloading. i am manually adding the payments to keep things up to date. the register settings are the same as those of the other 2 cards that work fine. i have deactivated and reactivated at least 4 times to no avail. what am i missing?

Do you get 2 card statements from Chase, or 1 statement that covers both cards?
If 1 statement, you've really only got 1 account, even if they have different card numbers.
Which is why Chase (they make the determination, not Q) is only downloading the 1 payment.
BTW, my wife and I have 1 statement with 2 Chase card numbers also.

Does the missing monthly payment differ in amount each month or is the amount the same each month?

Good question, but we have separate cards and separate statements. The amount being paid varies each month. just doesn't download it though it downloads all the charges.

@Mako23 Thanks for the reply, but it does lead to more questions.
When you do TOOLS, Account List what shows in the "Transaction Download" column for each account? What shows in the "Financial Institution" column for each?
When did you last reconcile each card account to the paper statement?
At the top of each account register, is the Green "Reset" button visible? If so, click it. Did that help?

Under TOOLS and "last download" both accounts show the last date i updated 3/28/25. Each one says "Chase".
I looked at the PDF statements to be sure we are getting everything and we are….just not the payments. If you asking about using the Quicken "Reconcile" window, that is so complicated that i haven't been able to use it. however, since i once tried, the window for reconcile pops up EVERY time i download new transactions. i would love better directions on how to use it or turn it OFF. hitting "cancel" closes it , but doesn't stop it from opening the next time.

No RESET button visible. the only reset available is under ACCOUNT DETAILS……ONLINE SERVICES. i have done that a bunch of times, too.

Don't try to reconcile the entire account at once. Pick a date, based upon the statement from your bank, that's at most 3 months (and preferably only 1 month) after your last reconcile … and then reconcile the month after that, etc. If you try to reconcile periods that are longer, it will be MUCH more difficult to spot any errors.
Also, have you EVER manually changed the value in the CLR column in these accounts? Doing so will mightily screw-up your reconciliations.

I will look at the reconcile function again to see if I can figure it.
I have been manually adding the monthly payments to account when they do not download properly.
