Can't add new account

If I go to the Accounts bar, click on + or go to Tools dropdown, select "Add Account", I get a list of firms to select from, as always. I need to select Vanguard, but the same things happens with other firms as well. I can select the firm, but then the next window "Add Account" is blank and I never get the login window. I have tried this with two separate Quicken files, same thing. (I used to get the chance to log in to the firm to select the account to download)

( I don't need to add a new account at the moment, but I deactivated my Vanguard account - see OL-295-A issue - but now I can't reactivate it using the recommended "add account" method.)

Win 10 Home, all updated, rebooted several times

Quicken R61.21 build 27.1.61.21

    Hello @Robert Berman,

We appreciate you letting us know about this issue!

To better assist you, could you please provide the following details?

    • Where is your Quicken data file stored? Is it on your local hard drive (C: Drive) or a cloud-based/external drive (e.g.: OneDrive, DropBox, USB, etc.)?
    • Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far? If so, what were they?
    • Are you using a VPN while updating your accounts? If so, does disabling it make any difference?
    • Do you have any antivirus or malware protection software running that may be interfering with Quicken? If so, have you tried temporarily disabling it to see if the issue persists?
    • When did this issue first start occurring?
    • Were there any significant changes to your system or software before the issue began (updates, new installations, etc.)?

Additionally, could you please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

This morning it told me a Quicken update was available. I let it install. Incredibly it is working now. I was even able to update my Vanguard accounts without the usual OL-295-A error coming up even after updating. Let's see how long this lasts….
